Last night I had to give my friend some Actidose-AQ 50gm/240ml Liquid because she accidentally took too many painkillers. She was really scared, and I was too, but the paramedics said it was the right thing to do. It got me thinking, how exactly does activated charcoal work? It's amazing that it can soak up poisons and drugs in your stomach and intestines. I guess it's like a sponge for toxins. Has anyone else had to use this stuff? I'd love to hear some stories. How does it work? What's it like to administer to someone else?
