Prevymis is an antiviral medication prescribed for adults who have undergone stem cell transplants to prevent Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections. This drug works to inhibit replication of CMV in the body. The urgent side effects noted in the documentation include severe allergic reactions, abnormal heartbeats, and swelling in the arms or legs. Less urgent, but still concerning side effects such as diarrhea, stomach pain, and headache should be monitored and discussed with a doctor if they persist.
