I've been taking Uloric to manage my gout, but I'm worried about the serious side effects listed, such as the liver problems and life-threatening skin reactions. Has anyone had any problems or know someone who has? I'm hoping to hear some real-life experiences to get a better idea of what to expect. I've had a few mild issues like upset stomach, but nothing too worrying yet. I wish I could avoid the more serious effects but I'd rather be prepared if they do occur. Does anyone know if there's a way to lower the risk of these severe side effects, or should I just be lucky to avoid them? What do you think about the monitoring suggested for liver problems and skin reactions, and how can I really determine if my liver is not working correctly? I'm trying to be proactive, but I want to know if there is any reason to worry more or less than I already am.

I'm new to managing gout and have been prescribed Uloric 80mg tablets. The doctor mentioned that it blocks an enzyme in the body that makes uric acid. I've read the list of potential side effects and I'm a bit hesitant. I'm looking to decry the severity of the side effects and does anyone have experience with Uloric 80mg that they could share? Are there any alternative medications that are less risky than febuxostat?
