I was prescribed Zymaxid 0.5% Ophth Solution 2.5ml for a bacterial eye infection, and while it seems to be helping, I'm really concerned about the potential side effects. The list of urgent side effects is pretty scary, especially the ones that mention skin reactions and eye swelling. Has anyone else experienced anything like these side effects? My doctor reassured me it's rare, but I can't stop thinking about it. How do you manage these worries? The other possible side effects are less alarming, but I really hope I don't end up with changes in taste. It would be irritating to lose that as well. I'm not sure what I'd do if I had a severe reaction. It's so hard to know what to expect. I've sent a message to my doctor about it, but I wondered if anyone here had any experience to share? I've been prescribed 2meq/ml Inj, 50ml of Sodium Acetate to help balance my electrolyte levels while I'm on IV nutrition. My doctor assured me it's safe, but the potential side effects listed are pretty scary. I'm especially worried about the electrolyte problems and allergic reactions. I figured I'd ask here if anyone has had any bad experiences or if it's generally well-tolerated. Also, how soon after starting the IV do side effects usually show up? I want to be prepared. I've never had any issues with IVs before, but this is my first time with something that could affect my blood chemistry so directly.
