I was recently prescribed Sodium Acetate (2meq/ml inj, 100ml) to help balance my electrolyte levels and I must say I'm a bit nervous about it. My doctor explained that it helps manage my body's acid levels, but I want to know if anyone else has gone through this and how they dealt with the potential side effects. I only had a mild reaction to IVs in the past, but the list of possible side effects is pretty long. I'm particularly concerned about the possibility of allergic reactions. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips or advice on managing side effects would be greatly appreciated.

I've been on Sodium Acetate 4meq/ml Inj 50ml IVs for a couple of weeks now, and I'm curious to hear from others who have had similar experiences. I was prescribed it to help with acid-base balance issues and to supplement sodium while on TPN. So far, I haven't experienced any major side effects, but I'm aware of the potential risks, especially the severe allergic reactions and electrolyte imbalances.
