My experience with Sodium Acetate 4meq/ml Inj 50ml IVs - Asking for others to share their insights
I've been on Sodium Acetate 4meq/ml Inj 50ml IVs for a couple of weeks now, and I'm curious to hear from others who have had similar experiences. I was prescribed it to help with acid-base balance issues and to supplement sodium while on TPN. So far, I haven't experienced any major side effects, but I'm aware of the potential risks, especially the severe allergic reactions and electrolyte imbalances. Has anyone else dealt with these, and if so, how did you manage? Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!

I had a weird sense of balance for a few days. It went away, but it was unsettling. I think it was a side effect from this.
I had some skin irritation where the IV was. Not a big deal, but definitely something to mention to your doctor.
I had no idea this stuff could cause such serious side effects. I'm glad I didn't have any issues, but it's scary to think about.
I'm a nurse and we always keep an eye out for those allergic reactions. If you see any signs, call your doctor immediately.
I've been on TPN for a while and have used Sodium Acetate. Never had any problems, but always good to be cautious.
Be really careful with the electrolyte imbalance symptoms. I experienced some confusion and weakness, but my doc caught it early.
I had a friend who had a severe reaction to this. Scary stuff. Make sure you're in a place where you can get help if needed.
I was on this for a while during a hospital stay. The nurses were great about monitoring me for any signs of trouble. I didn't have any major issues, just some mild muscle cramps.
I had a friend who was prescribed this and they didn't do their research. I am glad I was able to catch the seriousness of this before anything bad happened.
