I've been given 4000ml of Golytely Solution to drink before my upcoming colonoscopy, and I'm terrified of what lies ahead. Has anyone else had to use this? How long did the worst of the side effects last? Was it as bad as I've been hearing? I've heard horror stories about the cramps and diarrhea. It's supposed to work by drawing water into your intestines, but that doesn't make it any less intimidating. Any helpful tips on how to deal with it all? Anyone have any fun suggestions on how to make the solution taste better? I've heard some suggestions like stirring in sweetener or freezing parts into popsicles. Thoughts? Now, I've also read the side effects list, and it's pretty scary. Any more details on the potential dehydration or electrolyte imbalances from anyone who has experienced them? I want to be prepared for all possible outcomes.
