I've recently been prescribed Apretude, a new injectable medicine used to help prevent HIV-1 infection in at-risk adults and adolescents. It works by blocking a protein that HIV needs to multiply. The injection is given every two months after the first two monthly injections. I'm curious to know if anyone else has tried it and what their experience has been. What are the pros and cons? Does anyone know of any long-term effects? How does it compare to other PrEP options? Additionally, I want to know how serious are some of the side effects?
