I recently started using Arixtra 2.5mg/0.5ml Prefill Syringe after a knee replacement surgery to prevent blood clots. The nurse told me that this medication works by thinning the blood, which reduces the risk of dangerous clots that can lead to serious problems like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). However, I'm worried about the possible side effects, especially the urgent ones that require immediate medical attention. My doctor mentioned some scary symptoms like severe allergic reactions, signs of bleeding, and low potassium levels. I've also heard about other possible side effects like irritation at the injection site and difficulty sleeping. Has anyone else had similar experiences, especially with the urgent side effects? I am curious if anyone else has had issues with the injection site, I've heard it can be pretty irritating. Is it really that bad?
