I recently started Oxaliplatin as part of my treatment plan for colon cancer. The medication is administered via IV infusion and it sounds like a pretty powerful therapy. It's given in combination with other chemotherapy drugs. Has anyone else taken this drug? I'd love to hear about your experiences, side effects, and how it's impacted your life. I've heard about the side effects like I would expect from chemo, but I could use some real-life stories. Especially if you've had any of the really serious side effects. How did you manage them? Also, were any side effects permanent or just temporary?
