Hey everyone, I was prescribed Amox-Clav 500-125mg Tablets for an infection, and I experienced some really scary side effects. I had some skin issues and severe stomach pain, and it turned out I had a rare form of diarrhea. I ended up in the ER. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I’m just a bit worried and would appreciate some insight. Also, is there anyone here who knows about reporting severe side effects to the FDA? I want to make sure other people don’t go through what I did.

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. I’ve had minor side effects with Amox-Clav, but nothing that required a trip to the ER. I hope you’re feeling better soon. I think you should definitely report the side effects to the FDA. It’s important to document these things for both you and other patients.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Amox-Clav a few years ago and ended up in the ER. I was so scared, but the doctors were fantastic and got me back on track. Report your complications to the FDA. It’s important to get it on the books in case something worse happens. Hope you made it out of the ER okay and are feeling better now.

I'm sorry to hear that! I had diarrhea too, but nothing like what you described. I’ll definitely be more cautious now. Depending on the severity of the reaction, you might want to consider a different antibiotic or at least a lower dosage in the future. Have you talked to your doctor about this?

Yikes, that sounds terrible. I had some bad diarrhea, but nothing like that. Make sure you talk to your doctor and report it to the FDA. I’m so sorry to hear about this.

I had a mild rash and some hives, but nothing life-threatening. It was still scary, though. I took some antihistamines and it cleared up. This is why I’m grateful to have a good doctor. I think I’ll have a chat with her about my experience. I think it’s important to report it to the FDA. I wouldn’t risk it in your case.
