I've recently been prescribed Vistaril 25mg for anxiety and it's been helping, but I was curious to know if anyone else has experienced any concerning side effects. The leaflet mentioned some potentially serious ones but also that they are rare. I'm just a bit worried as I have a history of adverse reactions to meds. How about you all? Good experiences? Bad experiences? I need to be sure this is the right route for me.

I take it for allergies, and it works great, but the drowsiness can be intense. I’d say try it out but be cautious, especially if you're driving or operating machinery.

I wouldn't worry too much about the side effects. Every drug has them, and it's all about finding what works for you. Just make sure to stay in touch with your doctor!

I can’t believe this stuff makes people drowsy. It makes me so wired, and I feel like I could take on the world. But I’m not sure if it’s just a self-perception thing.

I had a friend who had a serious reaction to Vistaril. It was scary. I would definitely recommend always having someone around when you first start taking it just in case.

I take it for anxiety and it’s worked wonders. But I also take it at night because of the drowsiness. It’s been a lifesaver, but I’d hate to take something that could cause a severe reaction.

I had a mild rash after taking Vistaril. I stopped taking it and it went away. Wish I had known about the serious skin reactions before I started taking it.

I actually found Vistaril to be really helpful for pre-op anxiety. The drowsiness helped me relax, but I kept waking up feeling groggy the next day.
