Warning! Proloprim 100mg - Severe Side Effects and Urgent Concerns
I was prescribed Proloprim 100mg Tablets for a urinary tract infection and experienced some alarming symptoms. I am aware that it is a strong antibiotic but are any of the side effects I've read possible to experience long term? Even after stopping the medication, I am still dealing with blue-gray skin and constant fatigue. Is this normal? Has anyone had lasting side effects after taking this medication? I have an appointment with my doctor but I want to be informed before I go. Are there any additional resources out there for me to use? Thank you for your help.

This medication can be tough on the body. Make sure to stay hydrated and listen to your doctor’s advice. If you’re feeling really bad you should push to see your doctor for a change of course.
If you’re experiencing fatigue and skin discoloration, it’s definitely worth talking to a doctor ASAP. Those symptoms are definitely concerning.
Have you tried any home remedies to manage the side effects? Sometimes chamomile tea can help with an upset stomach.
I took Proloprim for a UTI and had no issues at all. Everyone is different, so it’s hard to say what might happen.
I've had more than one instance of a UTI so I've been on this medication a few times and I've been fine but I've also heard horror stories.
I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. I had a similar experience with Proloprim. My doctor mentioned something like methemoglobinemia, which is an emergency. Obviously, get to a doctor immediately.
How long have you experienced these symptoms? It might be worth getting a second opinion if your doctor isn’t taking your concerns seriously.
