I've been prescribed Toprol XL 50mg Tablets (Metoprolol extended-release) for managing my high blood pressure and reducing chest pain. I've been taking it for a few months now. My doctor explained that it's a beta-blocker, working by slowing down my heart rate and relaxing my blood vessels. The 'XL' means it's a long-acting form, so I only need to take it once a day. I am feeling better, but I have been experiencing some side effects. Anyone else on this medication? What's your experience?
