I've recently been prescribed Cefotan 2gm Inj, 1 Vial for a severe abdominal infection. I've always been a bit nervous about antibiotics, especially when they are administered by injection. The nurse explained that cefotetan is a powerful medication that works by killing the bacteria causing my infection. I'm sharing my experience here, along with some of the potential side effects to be aware of. For instance, the medication can cause urination problems, such as an inability to pass urine or changes in urine output, which sounds alarming. Another severe side effect is C. diff-associated diarrhea (CDAD), which can be life-threatening if not treated properly.
