I've been struggling with chest congestion and cough due to a persistent cold. My doctor prescribed Cough/Chest Cong DM Syrup, which contains Guaifenesin to thin mucus and Dextromethorphan to reduce coughing. Has anyone else tried this? I'm wondering about its effectiveness and any side effects I should watch out for. The package insert mentions some severe allergic reactions, so I'm a bit concerned.
