I was recently prescribed Phenobarbital/Hyoscyamine/Atropine/Scopolamine Elixir 480ml. The doctor said it's going to help with my IBS symptoms by calming my gut, reducing spasms, and providing a mild sedative effect. The anticholinergic ingredients (hyoscyamine, atropine, scopolamine) will relax muscles in the gut and reduce secretions, while phenobarbital will calm me. Has anyone used this medication before? I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects but my doctor assured me the benefits outweigh the risks if used as directed. However, I’m curious to know how others have experienced it. If you've been on this, what should I expect?
