I'm considering Zonisade for my child who has been diagnosed with epilepsy. The doctor prescribed Zonisamide liquid suspension as a way to help control the seizures. I've heard that it works by calming overactive nerve signals in the brain, but I'm wondering if other parents have had success with this medication. I'm also concerned about the possible side effects. The doctor mentioned some urgent side effects that require immediate medical help, such as signs of allergic reaction, acidosis, and high ammonia levels. He also said it can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and fatigue, among other things, but said many people experience no or mild side effects. Does anyone have experience with this? Has anyone had to deal with these side effects? How did you cope? Did you go through something similar? I'd love to hear any stories or advice.
