I've just been prescribed Lidocaine 1%/epine 1:100000 Inj, 30ml for an upcoming dental procedure. I've never had a local anesthetic before, and I'm a bit nervous. I know it's supposed to numb the area, but I'm wondering what to expect during and after the injection. How long does the numbing effect typically last? How long will the injection site stay red or swollen? Should I be worried about the side effects I've read about? Should I expect any other symptoms aside from slight discomfort from the injection? I don't want to be surprised. Anything helps. Thanks!
