I'm scheduled for surgery soon and I've been told I'll be given Suprane 99.9% Inhalation Sol 240ml, which is essentially Desflurane, to keep me asleep and pain-free during the procedure. The doctor mentioned potential side effects, some of which sound really serious, and I'm getting a bit worried. They mentioned signs of high or low blood pressure, allergic reactions, and this thing called malignant hyperthermia which sounds scary. I've also read that it can cause kidney and liver problems. As someone who has never had surgery before, I'm a bit anxious about all this. Has anyone else dealt with this medication? Was it as bad as the literature makes it out to be? How did your doctor handle potential side effects? Any insights would be really appreciated.
