I was recently hospitalized and given Nafcillin 1gm/50ml injection for a severe Staphylococcus infection. The medication worked wonders, but I experienced some scary side effects. I want to share my story and warn others about the potential risks. Nafcillin is an antibiotic given by injection into a vein, used to treat serious bacterial infections. However, it can cause severe and even life-threatening side effects. I had a delayed allergic reaction with muscle pain, fever, and joint pain two weeks after starting treatment. I finally contacted my doctor and he immediately switched me to a different antibiotic. I hope my experience can help others recognize the signs and seek medical attention promptly.
