I'm considering getting some Lidocaine 5% Topical Ointment for minor burns and scraps. Has anyone used it before? Does it work well and how is the relief of pain? I'm slightly concerned on the side effects. How is it for insect bites?

I recently picked up Prax 1% Lotion 118ml for some pretty severe sunburn. I've used it a couple of times now, and it seems to be helping with the pain and itching. Has anyone else tried this for sunburn? How well did it work for you? I'm also curious about any potential side effects. The bottle lists some serious ones, but I haven't experienced any so far. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something important. Also, does anyone know if this can be used on kids? I'm cautious about applying anything too strong to my kids' sensitive skin. Any advice would be appreciated! Also, interested in any specific tips on how to apply it most effectively. Does it work better with a cool compress?
