I've been using Lidocaine 5% topical ointment for a few months now to manage chronic pain, and while it's been helpful, I've also experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. I've had some swelling and redness at the application site, which isn't too severe, but it's definitely noticeable. I've also felt a bit lightheaded and dizzy at times, which is quite concerning. I'm wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and if there are any tips for managing them. Additionally, I've noticed some changes in skin color, which is a bit odd. I want to know if this is normal or if I should consult a doctor about this. Finally, I found it helpful to apply a thin layer of ointment and cover it with a bandage to keep it in place. This seemed to reduce the amount of ointment needed and minimized side effects. I am just curious if anyone else has had any success with this method. The potential side effects of this medication are severe! I couldn't believe when I saw a list of the side effects!
