Lidocaine 5% Topical Ointment 30gm: My experience and what I learned about side effects
I've been using Lidocaine 5% topical ointment for a few months now to manage chronic pain, and while it's been helpful, I've also experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. I want to share my story and find out if anyone else has gone through similar experiences. I've had some swelling and redness at the application site, which isn't too severe, but it's definitely noticeable. I've also felt a bit lightheaded and dizzy at times, which is quite concerning. I'm wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and if there are any tips for managing them. Additionally, I've noticed some changes in skin color, which is a bit odd. I want to know if this is normal or if I should consult a doctor about this. Finally, I found it helpful to apply a thin layer of ointment and cover it with a bandage to keep it in place. This seemed to reduce the amount of ointment needed and minimized side effects. I am just curious if anyone else has had any success with this method. The potential side effects of this medication are severe! I couldn't believe when I saw a list of the side effects!

I had a really bad reaction to lidocaine. I went to the ER. The doctor told me that I am allergic to this drug. I got hives and itching all over my body, and I couldn't breathe. Not something I recommend to anyone. I had no idea this was a thing and it scared me.
I've had skin infections before, and the symptoms you described sound similar. If you notice any oozing, heat, or severe pain, definitely go see a doctor. Better safe than sorry. As for the skin color changes, I've never heard of that side effect. You should ask your doctor about that.
Yeah, I've had some issues with feeling really lightheaded and dizzy. I made sure to sit down and take it easy whenever I applied it. It also helped to make sure not to use too much at once.
I used this for a tattoo and it worked wonders, no side effects at all. But I know it's not for everyone. Just make sure to patch test first if you have sensitive skin.
I've just started using this for a minor skin irritation. I've applied a thin layer and covered it with a bandage. I haven't experienced any side effects and it's definitely helping with the pain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have any issues.
I experienced some severe numbness and tingling, which was kind of scary. I stopped using it and talked to my doctor, who advised against continuing with it. I'm fine now, but it was a bit of a hassle.
