I've been prescribed Acyclovir 800mg tablets for shingles and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'm particularly worried about the more serious side effects like kidney problems and blood issues. I've read the list of urgent side effects and it's a bit overwhelming. I've never really heard of Acyclovir being given as a shot until my friend had to take this injection, and he was wracked with questions about it.
