I've been using Acyclovir 5% Cream to treat cold sores for the past few weeks, and I've been experiencing some unpleasant side effects. I've heard that it's common to have some irritation, but I'm worried about some of the symptoms I'm experiencing. I've developed a rash and some swelling on my lips, and it's been pretty uncomfortable. I've also noticed some itching and burning sensations. I'm not sure if these are normal side effects or if I should be concerned. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences with this medication. If you have any tips or advice, please share.

Yeah for sure. It's not worth it if you're experiencing any severe side effects. You should definitely speak with your doctor and see if there are any alternative treatments available for you.

I've had some burning on my lips when using this cream. Switching to another brand helped a lot.

I had a similar experience with Acyclovir. The rash was itchy, and I had to discontinue the cream and switch to a different treatment method. Always talk to your doctor if you experience any severe side effects.

I've used it and never had any problems. It's very quick to get rid of a cold sore.

I've used Acyclovir 5% Cream in the past, and I never experienced any severe side effects like swelling or rash. Maybe try applying a smaller amount less frequently, or speak with a pharmacist about it. It could be that you're having an allergic reaction to the cream, the packaging suggests call your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms so I'd take their advice.
