I have an autoimmune disease and my doctor prescribed me Azathioprine 100mg injections. I wanted to hear from people who have been on this medication, particularly with the injected form. I was prescribed Imuran (Azathioprine) 50mg Tablets for my rheumatoid arthritis. The medication works by suppressing my immune system, which helps with the inflammation, but I'm worried about the side effects. I've read about potential infections, increased cancer risk, and even a rare but serious brain condition called PML. I'm wondering if anyone else has taken this medication and what their experiences have been, especially regarding any serious side effects. I want to know if these risks are really as significant as they seem, or if they are rare enough not to worry too much about. What have been your experiences?
