I've been prescribed Altabax 1% Ointment to treat a case of impetigo. The doctor assured me it's common and effective, but the list of possible side effects is concerning. I've started using it and am noticing some mild itching and redness. Is this normal, or should I be worried? I'm particularly scared of the severe allergic reactions mentioned. Has anyone else had similar experiences or concerns? How did you handle them? Also, are there any tips or tricks to effectively use this ointment? Do I need to be careful about how frequently I apply it or how long I leave it on?

Just wanted to share that my kiddo was diagnosed with impetigo, which is a highly contagious bacterial skin infection. The doctor prescribed Altabax 1% Ointment 30gm. They said it treats the infection by stopping bacteria growth. I am wondering if anyone else has used this medication? I would love some feedback and assurance. The potential side effects worry me. I'm hoping it's the best way to go, but I do not want to risk anything. I have been seeing other parents on forums mentioning they had to take their kids back to the doctor for other reasons (such as redness, bloating, etc).
