I've been prescribed Absorica 10mg Capsules (Isotretinoin) for my severe acne. I'm on my second month and have noticed some improvements, but I'm also experiencing dry skin and lips, which are manageable. I've read about the potential serious side effects, and it's a bit scary. I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. Have you experienced any severe side effects? How did you manage the more common ones like dry skin and lips?

It's important to remember that everyone reacts differently to this medication. For some, the side effects are mild and manageable, while for others, they can be severe. Stick to the guidelines your doctor gives you and stay vigilant.

A friend of mine had a really bad reaction to Absorica. She developed really bad joint pain and swelling. She had to go to the ER and she was off it for a while. It was scary, but her skin eventually cleared up. We monitored it very closely with her doctor. Luckily, she was able to go back on it.

This is a powerful medication, no doubt. But the side effects are brutal. I had terrible headaches and back pain for the first few weeks. My doctor recommended taking ibuprofen, but it wasn't enough. I ended up stopping the treatment after two months because it was affecting my quality of life more than the acne.

Anyone else experience mood swings? I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster.

I wish more people understood how serious the precautions are, especially for women of childbearing age. The iPledge program is a pain, but it's there for a reason.

This thread is a great reminder to stay in touch with your healthcare provider. Regular check-ins and blood tests are crucial. Some doctors are less strict than others. Make sure you're getting the care you need

I was soo scared to even start this medication. I had a friend who had a severe reaction but I had not heard of any of the serious reactions and did not experience any of them myself. I just had dry skin, and a couple of headaches. Stick with it. It's worth it.

I took Absorica for six months and it was a game-changer for my acne. The dryness was annoying, but using a good moisturizer helped. I never experienced any of the serious side effects, but I made sure to get regular blood tests and check-ins with my dermatologist. Highly recommend.

Absorica definitely helped my acne, but the dryness was a nightmare. I felt the dryness more with my hair, and my hair started to fall out. Drinking enough water, moisturizer, and a good hair conditioner really helped.
