I started taking Acamprosate Cal DR 333mg Tablets a few weeks ago to help with my sobriety journey. So far, it's been a mix of positive and negative experiences. I've noticed a significant reduction in my alcohol cravings, but I've also experienced some unpleasant side effects, mainly diarrhea and feeling constantly tired. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication. How long did it take for the side effects to subside? Did anyone experience anything similar to what I'm going through? Additionally, I've read about the increased risk of suicidal thoughts, which is quite concerning. I'd like to know if anyone has had to deal with this and how they coped. I'm really hoping this medication will help me stay sober long-term, but I'm a bit hesitant due to the potential side effects. Has anyone successfully used Acamprosate for an extended period, and what was their experience like? I'd appreciate any advice or shared experiences from those who have been there.

I know it's tough, but try to focus on the positive aspects. You're taking control of your life, and that's something to be proud of. Stay strong!

I'm on week three and the cravings are definitely lower. But the tiredness is real. Just stopped my morning coffee to help me sleep. Not going to lie, it's a bitch but I can feel the difference.

I'm curious if anyone has combined Acamprosate with other medications or therapies. I'm thinking of trying CBT along with this. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

I had a similar experience with the side effects. I found that taking the medication with food helped a lot with the diarrhea and fatigue. It's definitely worth trying if you're struggling with cravings, but don't hesitate to talk to your doctor if the side effects become unbearable.

I think Acamprosate is a great tool, but it's only one part of the journey. Make sure you're also focusing on therapy, support groups, and lifestyle changes. It's a holistic approach that really works.

I've been on Acamprosate for about six months now, and it's been a game-changer for me. The first few weeks were rough with some side effects, but they eventually went away. Stick with it if you can, because the benefits are worth it. As for the suicidal thoughts, I didn't experience any, but it's something to be aware of. Keep in touch with your doctor and monitor your mental state closely.
