I started taking Accutane (Isotretinoin) 20mg capsules about a month ago, and I've already noticed a significant improvement in my acne. However, I wanted to share my experience and gather more information from others who have taken this medication. It's important to note that Accutane can cause serious side effects, so it's crucial to stay informed and vigilant. I had to join the iPLEDGE program, which involves regular check-ins and blood tests to monitor my progress and any potential side effects. If you're considering Accutane or currently taking it, please share your experiences and any tips you have for managing side effects or staying compliant with the iPLEDGE program. I'm particularly interested in hearing from those who have experienced both benefits and side effects, as well as any advice on dealing with the dry skin and lips that come with this treatment. If you have any concerns about side effects or if they persist or bother you, contact your doctor or seek medical attention. You can also report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-332-1088 or online at https://www.fda.gov/medwatch. If you have questions about side effects, consult your doctor for medical advice.

Does anyone know if you can still wear contact lenses while taking Accutane? My eyes are so dry and I'm thinking of switching to glasses.

I had to stop taking Accutane because I developed really bad joint pain. It was like having a bad case of arthritis in all my joints. My doctor switched me to a different medication, but it's been a rough road. If you experience any severe side effects, don't hesitate to talk to your doctor.

I had a weird side effect where my skin got really sensitive to the sun. I bought a high SPF sunscreen and wore a hat and long sleeves whenever I went outside. It was a bit annoying, but better safe than sorry!

I've been on Accutane for 6 months and it's been a game-changer. My skin is almost clear, but the dryness is no joke. I use a heavy-duty moisturizer and lip balm religiously. Also, make sure to stay hydrated and protect your skin from the sun!

Accutane was the only thing that worked for me after years of struggling with acne. I had severe cystic acne and nothing else helped. It's worth it for the clear skin, but be prepared for the side effects. And be sure to go to all your appointments!

I think everyone should be aware of the potential mood changes. I wasn't prepared for the emotional rollercoaster. It was on the first round of Accutane and it was tough. Just make sure you have a support system in place.

I hope that everyone else's experience with Accutane is as positive as mine has been. Just keep putting the moisturizer on when you feel yourself getting dry.

I'm on week 4 and I'm already seeing clear skin! My doctor told me that the first month is always the worst, so I'm hoping it gets even better. Fingers crossed!
