I've been dealing with swimmer's ear for a while now, and my doctor finally prescribed Acetic Acid 2% Otic Solution 15ml. This stuff is supposed to help by making the ear canal more acidic to stop bacterial and fungal growth. I've got a few questions, though: Has anyone else used this? How did it work for you? Are there any tricks to applying it correctly, since my ear canal can be pretty sensitive?

The stinging is annoying but bearable. I popped in a cotton ball and change it every few hours to help with the irritation, wound up lightening the cotton to make it more comfortable.

Acetic acid drops are great, but I've had some irritation. It's important to follow the instructions carefully to avoid any discomfort.

I've never gotten swimmer's ear, but a friend of mine had it and used these drops. He said they helped a lot, though he mentioned the stinging was pretty bad. Maybe try the ice pack tip?

I was prescribed these drops for my daughter and her ear infection was gone in 3 days, the doctor just instructed us to not let it get in her ear canal though.
