I've been prescribed Acetylcysteine 20% Inhalation Solution 25 X 4ml for my COPD. It's been a game-changer for clearing my lungs, but I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. The list is quite long and some of them sound quite serious. Has anyone else had issues with this medication? Right now I'm sticking to inhaling, but I've been curious about the liquid form by mouth, too. Thoughts on the best way to use it?

I've been using it for a while now and haven't had any serious side effects. Just some mild mouth irritation, but that's manageable. Make sure to rinse your mouth after use.

I had a bad reaction to it. I started getting hives and my throat felt tight. I had to go to the ER. It was scary but thankfully it didn't escalate. Avoid it.

I've been using Acetylcysteine for a few months now, and I've had some mouth irritation but nothing too bad. I just make sure to rinse my mouth out thoroughly after using it.

I've heard that some people mix it with saline solution to make it more tolerable. Might be worth a try if you're having trouble with the taste.

I had a friend who had severe shortness of breath after using this. It's scary to think how quickly things can turn serious. If you feel any of those symptoms, go to the doctor immediately, regardless of the time of day.

I've been using it for my cystic fibrosis. It's made a huge difference in my lung function. Just be careful and keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms.

Has anyone tried using a nebulizer with this? I'm curious if that makes a difference in how it affects you.

If you're feeling sleepy after using it, make sure to use it at a time when you can rest afterward. Also, keep some water nearby to help with the mouth irritation, and avoid hot beverages.
