I have been fighting acne for years. I recently started using Acne Medication 5% Lotion, which contains Benzoyl Peroxide. I know it kills the bacteria that cause acne and helps unclog pores, but I'm worried about the side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else experienced any of these side effects? My skin feels dry and irritated sometimes, but I'm not sure if that's normal or if it's a sign of something worse. What should I be doing to get relief and when should I be talking to a doctor

Honestly, I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this. It's a really effective treatment, but the side effects can be rough. I've had some scaling and peeling, but it's nothing compared to the acne I had before. You know, good acne treatments are on the rough side but are the ones that actually work.

I went from 20 pimples to 3! This stuff is the real deal

I used this medication for a long time, and it really helped my acne. But one time, I got a weird burning sensation. I stopped using it for a week, and then tried again with a smaller application and it was fine. Your skin might be reacting to the strength. Try a lower percentage.

I had a severe allergic reaction to this stuff. It's scary how quickly it happened, hives and all. I thought I was dying. It's worth mentioning that I have never reacted to anything skin related before. Seek immediate medical attention if you feel something is off.

I've been using this for a few months, and it's been a game changer for my acne, but I had some dryness at the beginning. I just used a good moisturizer and it cleared up.

I experienced a lot of itching, but it feels like it's clearing up, gradually. Hopefully it's just a transitional phase.

You should definitely talk to your doctor if you're experiencing severe side effects, but for me, the mild irritation was worth it. My skin has never been clearer. Make sure to give the medication a little bit of time to work, though. Acne doesn't always go away over night.

I've had no issues using this. I just make sure to use it consistently and not skip days. It's a pain to deal with, but it's worth it to have clear skin.

I broke out in a rash after using this for a week. I had to stop using it completely. My advice? Start with a smaller area to test for reactions. The longer you wait to do that the worse it will be. My skin took a long time to get back to a normal state.
