Actidose-AQ is an emergency medicine used to treat accidental poisonings and overdoses. When ingested, it acts like a super-sponge, absorbing toxins and drugs in the stomach and intestines before they can be absorbed by the body. While it can be a lifesaver, it's not without risks, and side effects can be life-threatening. I recently had to use it in an emergency, and I'm curious about others' experiences. If you've used it, please share what happened and how the side effects impacted you.

Be careful with this stuff. It can cause severe constipation. I once had a friend who used it for an overdose and ended up with serious bowel issues.

Who else thinks it's insane that activated charcoal can absorb poison but you can also buy it over the counter as a 'detox'? People need to stop using it for weight loss and other nonsense.

I had to use this on my dog after she ingested some chocolate. The vet said it could absorb the theobromine before it caused serious issues. My dog did fine after a bit of vomiting, but it was a stressful night.

So I just picked up some Actidose for an upcoming camping trip where we'll be around poisonous plants. I was wondering if anyone out there has experience with this and can give me some tips on how to use it safely.

Actidose-AQ is dangerous if inhaled. It can cause aspiration pneumonia, which is a serious lung infection. If you suspect someone has inhaled some of the liquid, get medical attention immediately.

I've always wondered how quickly you need to act to have activated charcoal work effectively. Does anyone know the time frame?
