I've been using Adapalene 0.1% Gel for about a week now, and my skin is peeling like crazy. I'm not sure if this is a normal reaction or if I should be concerned. My dermatologist prescribed it to help with my acne, but I'm not sure if the benefits outweigh the discomfort right now. I've also experienced some dryness and redness, but the peeling is the most concerning. Has anyone else had this issue? I've read that skin irritation is common, but I'm not sure if this is too severe. Any tips on how to manage these side effects would be greatly appreciated. I want to stick with the treatment if possible, but I'm not sure what to do. Adapalene can cause irritation, but the potential side effects listed in the doc seemed rare. Maybe I just need to give it some time, but I'm concerned I've burned myself too much. Should I consult my doctor or just push through?

I had the same issue when I started using Adapalene. My dermatologist recommended using a mild cleanser and avoiding any other harsh products. It took about 2-3 weeks for my skin to adjust, but it eventually got better. Just be patient and stick with it.

I just started using adapalene and my skin is so dry. What moisturizer do you recommend? I've tried a few and nothing seems to work.

I had a similar experience with adapalene. It caused severe burning and peeling. I had to stop using it. I think I might have been allergic to it.

Adapalene can be tough on the skin at first, but it usually gets better with time. Try using a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to help with the dryness and peeling. Also, make sure you're not using too much product. A pea-sized amount is usually enough for your entire face. You can also try applying it every other day to give your skin a break.

I switched to the 0.3% formulation and it didn't help. I switched back to the 0.1% and things improved, so I think it was a mistake.

Try Cerave moisturizing cream, it's a lifesaver for dry skin. It's thick and hydrating but not greasy. If you can't find it in store, Amazon has it.

I've been using adapalene for a few months now and my skin has improved tremendously. The initial irritation was tough, but it's worth it. Make sure you're not using other acne products that could be irritating your skin as well. I use a simple skincare routine with a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.

Hmm, this is helpful. I have been using too much. I'll cut back and see if my skin calms down. Thanks!

I would definitely consult your doctor before continuing. It could be a sign of an allergic reaction, which can be serious.

I used Adapalene and my skin seemed to not care at all. A few dry patches, but nothing too bad. I also had no idea it could be used for anti-aging. It's in a lot of anti-aging products. But this could be dangerous. Different skin types react differently.
