I started taking Adderall XR for my ADHD a few months ago, and while it's helped with focus and productivity, I'm also experiencing some side effects. I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with these issues or has advice on how to manage them. The extended-release aspect is convenient, but I'm concerned about the potential long-term effects. Has anyone else had similar experiences or concerns?

I’ve had some issues with stomach problems and weight loss. It’s been worth it for the focus, but I wish the side effects weren’t so harsh.

I think it's crucial to monitor your blood pressure and heart rate regularly. Adderall can cause some serious cardiovascular issues if not managed properly. I had a friend who had to stop taking it because of this. Talk to your doctor about getting regular check-ups and maybe consider a lower dose if you experience any heart-related symptoms.

This thread is giving me flashbacks to my college days. Adderall was basically a requirement for all-nighters.

I'm on the opposite end. I feel like it's made me more... excitable. I can't sleep and I'm always on the go.

Unfortunately, Adderall isn’t the only option out there. If the side effects are too much, consider speaking to your doctor about alternatives. There are other meds and non-medical therapies that could help with ADHD.
