I've just started using Adlarity 5mg/day TD Weekly Patches for my mother who has Alzheimer's. The patch seems convenient, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects mentioned. Has anyone else tried this, and if so, what was your experience? How does the patch compare to oral medications like Aricept? I've read that it helps increase acetylcholine, which is crucial for memory and thinking, but I'd love to hear from people who have actually used it and the impact it has had on their daily lives.

Oh no! I had to stop using Adlarity because of the skin reactions. The patches caused a red, itchy rash that spread beyond the application site. I had to remove the patch way too early and get rid of it right away. It's a shame because it seemed very promising, and an allergy test confirmed that I was not allergic to donepezil. Maybe I'll try the pills again, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects mentioned.

Skin reactions, such as severe redness or swelling, peeling or blistered skin, or a skin reaction that has spread beyond the application site are concerning indeed. I've heard from some users that these reactions improved within 2 days after removing the patch so it's worth consulting with a doctor in case it happens.

I've heard that Aricept can cause muscle cramps and sleep disturbances, and Adlarity too. But my mom only used the patch for a week. Her brain activity improved and her memory has improved a little over two months. But she had itchy skin.

I've read that the patch is applied once a week to provide a steady dose of the medicine. Has anyone else noticed a difference in their condition? I'd love to hear from people who have actually used it and the impact it has had on their daily lives.

My dad has been on Aricept for a while, and it's been a bit of a nightmare with the daily dosing. Switching to Adlarity would be a game changer. But the patch is convenient, and less likely to forget or miss a dose. My dad had quite a few side effects in the beginning. I just don't know if he's benefiting or not. I didn't realize this was approved for Alzheimer's.

I've been using Aricept for a while now, and it's been a bit of a nightmare with the daily dosing. Switching to Adlarity would be a game changer for sure if it actually works as well.

I heard that Adlarity can also cause abnormal heartbeat or difficulty urinating, which is scary stuff. But isn't it better to have the patch with the warning than the pill with the warning?

My mom had some dizziness and headache in the beginning, but it went away after a few days. The other side effects, like constipation and weight loss, have been manageable so far. Maybe it's worth the tradeoff, but everyone is different.

The FDA has a side effects reporting line on their website. I'd love to see if there are any other people who have had issues with the medication. If there are, it might be worth calling them.

What about the serious side effects? I'm really worried about seizures and difficulty urinating, and especially new or worsening breathing difficulties. I need something safe. How can you tell the difference between a normal rash and that rash they are talking about?
