Has anyone switched from traditional levothyroxine or other T4-only medications to Adthyza (which contains both T4 and T3) for treating hypothyroidism? I'm wondering how well it works to alleviate symptoms and any unexpected complications or side effects. I'm particularly worried about the potential side effects like muscle cramps, swelling, and trouble sleeping. My doctor suggested this medication but I'm curious to hear from people who have firsthand experience with this medication.

Yes, the side effects list is scary, but remember these are rare. Plus, some of them could just be symptoms of your thyroid not being properly medicated. Doc might suggest a low dose at first.

My sister was on this medication but had to stop because of severe anxiety. It's rare, but it happens. Just be cautious. She ended up on a different T4/T3 combo.

I've seen some really concerning side effects reported online, like sudden weight gain and changes in menstrual periods. It might not be for everyone.

I switched to Adthyza and noticed my irritability went down drastically. Getting the right dosage took a while, but it was worth it. My doctor recommended starting with a low dose and gradually increasing it. I also monitor my heart rate regularly as a precaution.

I hear Adthyza's great for people with digestive issues from levothyroxine, but I haven't tried it. Anyone else? I've been wondering about the trade-offs there.

I've been on Adthyza for a couple of months, and it's been a game-changer for me. I finally have the energy to get through the day without feeling completely exhausted. I did experience some muscle cramps at first, but they went away after adjusting the dosage. Just make sure you're regular blood tests done to monitor your thyroid levels.

Finally a medication to combat the fatigue. I'm hoping to get off this medication after my daily activities improve.

Hair loss is a bummer, but it's temporary. Stick with it until your thyroid levels stabilize. Then it should return to normal. That's reassuring to know.
