Albendazole 200mg Tablets: My Experience and Concerns - Is it Right for Your Worm Infections?
I was prescribed Albendazole 200mg Tablets to treat a roundworm infection. The doctor explained that this medication works by preventing the worms from absorbing sugar, which they need to survive. I've heard it can cause some serious side effects, so I want to know if anyone else has taken these and what their experiences were. I've heard things can go from minor to serious quickly. Did anyone else have any serious side effects such as bleeding, liver issues, or an allergic reaction? Worse, did any of these problems resolve or persist?

I'm not sure what I'd do if I had a parasite. I really cannot handle the thought of worms being in my body.
Don't forget to report any side effects to the FDA. They need to know if something is causing issues. Safety is important. Safety is important. I’m sure the makers will want to know what we experience and why our symptoms occur.
Just finished a course of Albendazole. No side effects at all, thank goodness. I was really worried about the liver issues, given my family history. But everything went smoothly. I had a really bad case of hookworm, and it cleared it up nicely.
I took Albendazole for a tapeworm infection a few years ago. It worked well, but I did experience some stomach pain and headaches. Nothing too serious, though. I had to take it for a week and took it with food to help with stomach pain. I was really scared of those serious side effects but thankfully I didn't have any of those. I did need a follow-up appointment for a stool test to be sure it worked. I'd recommend it if your doctor thinks you need it.
What I find interesting is how it works to kill the worms. They need sugar to survive, and this drug stops them from absorbing it. It seemed to work well on my son's infection, so that was great, but I really hope I never have to deal with this again.
I took these for a roundworm infection and had no problems at all. I took them on an empty stomach and didn't have any issues. I didn't even know I had the worms until I got tested and I had a pretty bad case. It worked great. Just be sure to take the whole course of pills, even if you feel better. I had to do a follow up stool test to be sure I cleared it up.
I've been on Albendazole for a couple of days now, and I'm feeling pretty tired. Is this normal? I've been reading the side effects list, but I'm not sure if this is something I should worry about.
