Aldara 5% Cream Single Use Pkts - My Experience, Side Effects, and Advice
I've been using Aldara 5% Cream for a few weeks now to treat actinic keratosis. I've already seen some improvement, but I've also experienced some side effects. I was wondering if anyone else has used this cream and what their experiences were like. How have you managed the side effects? I've heard that it can be painful and cause flu-like symptoms. Has anyone else experienced these? Also, how long did it take for the side effects to subside? I'm curious to hear about everyone's experiences and any tips for making the treatment more bearable.

I had an allergic reaction to Aldara and had to stop using it. If you start to feel really sick or notice any signs of an allergic reaction, get to a doctor right away.
I had a severe reaction to Aldara. My doctor had to put me on steroids to calm it down. Not worth it for me.
If you've had issues with Aldara, talk to your doctor about topical 5-FU as an alternative. It works differently, so it might actually work for you.
I've been using Aldara for a month now and it's been fine. I've had some redness and itching, but nothing too bad. How long does it usually take to see results?
I used Aldara and had no side effects. It was a breeze. Just be sure to apply it before bedtime.
I'm on my second round of Aldara for basal cell carcinoma. The first round was rough, but I'm hopeful this time will be better. Fingers crossed!
What do you guys put on to help with the discomfort? I'm on a third of my treatment and the only thing that seems to help is hydrocortisone and a covering of aloe vera.
I used Aldara for genital warts and the side effects were awful. I had so much pain and swelling, it was miserable. But it worked, and that's what matters. Just be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.
I've been using Aldara for a while now, and it's been a nightmare, I'm not going to lie. The side effects were brutal at first, but I've found that using a gentle moisturizer afterwards helps a lot. Stick with it, though - it's worth it!
