I was prescribed Alendronate 70mg Tablets to help with my osteoporosis. It's been a few months now, and while I've seen some improvement in my bone density, I've also experienced some side effects. I've been dealing with pretty bad heartburn and upset stomach, which can make it tough to take every week. I’ve read about some scary things like jawbone problems. Has anyone else dealt with any of these more serious side effects, or are they just horror stories? I’m curious about others' experiences and tips on managing these symptoms. Also, should I be worried about this medicine causing any more complications?

Aren't these the ones associated with esophagus problems? I definitely wouldn't be in a hurry to go on this medication in a hurry. I wish there were more options. I'd be pretty cautious.

I was so scared of the jawbone problems when I started taking it. My dentist was really helpful in explaining that the risk is higher if you have dental work or other issues, but with regular check-ups and good oral hygiene, I haven't had any problems. Also, my doctor told me to take Magnesium as a supplement. I’ve done that and it’s helped with the heartburn.

I've been on Alendronate for a couple of years now, and while it's helped my bone density, the heartburn is no joke. I take it with a full glass of water and stay upright for at least 30 minutes after taking it. It helps a bit, but it's still rough sometimes.

I've had some stomach issues, but nothing too bad. I take it first thing in the morning with a full glass of water and then don't lie down for at least an hour. It's a bit of a hassle, but it's worth it for the bone strength benefits. Everyone should also consider getting a bone density test to check your results.

I think it's important to talk to your doctor about any concerns you have. They can help you manage the side effects and make sure you're getting the most out of the medication. And keep up with dental check-ups!.
