I've been using Alrex 0.2% Ophthalmic Susp 5ml for the past few weeks to manage my seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, and I've had a mix of experiences. At first, it was a godsend, as it took care of the itching and redness almost instantly. However, I've been dealing with some sensitivity to bright light and occasional burning sensations. Has anyone else experienced similar side effects? I'm wondering if it's worth sticking with this medication or if I should talk to my doctor about alternatives. On a side note, I wish the drops didn't sting so much when I put them in. Does anyone have tips to make the application process a bit smoother? I applause the effectiveness, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the side effects and management strategies.

I’ve had a similar experience. I react to a lot of medications, so I was relieved when Alrex worked for me without any side effects. I never had any burning or pain. I guess we’re all different! Stick it out, but be cautious and observant.

I switched to Alrex from a different eye drop, and it was like night and day. No more constant rubbing and tearing up. But yeah, the initial burn is rough. Maybe try applying the drops when your eyes are closed? It might make it easier to tolerate. And if the side effects get bad, talk to your doctor—don't just suffer through it.

I’ve had dryness and blurred vision, but I heard it happens for a lot of people. I just keep eye drops nearby and use them as needed. I don't love that it happens, but it's okay as long as it doesn't happen too often.

I feel your pain. I had the same burning sensation initially, but it went away after a few days. My doctor told me it's normal at first, but if it persists, it's time to reassess the medication. As for the light sensitivity, I just wore sunglasses indoors and it helped a lot. Stick with it for a week and see if things improve.

I've never had any issues with Alrex, but I've also never had seasonal allergies this bad before. This year has been brutal, and the itching has been driving me crazy. Aside from the side effects you mentioned, I would still say it’s worth it to feel some relief from the constant itching. It's definitely a game-changer for me, even with the minor side effects.

I've been using Alrex for years, and honestly, it's a lifesaver. I get terrible allergies, and this keeps the redness and itching under control. I've never had any serious side effects. Don't give up on it just yet, and definitely discuss any persistent issues with your doc.

I find that using these drops right after applying a cold compress really helps with the burning sensation. Also, keeping the bottle in the fridge can make it more soothing when you use it. Just a little tip that might help!

I got some really bad headaches when I used this. I thought for sure they were an allergic reaction at first, but it turned out it was just the way the drops affected me. Now I just take an Ibuprofen before using them and it helps a lot—just something to consider if you're feeling a bit off.

I hate that it makes my eyes so sensitive to light. It’s been making it really hard to drive in the daytime. I’m thinking of trying some other allergy medication to see if that helps. Has anyone else had this issue with Alrex?

I had a crazy allergic reaction to these drops. Swelling, redness everywhere, and I could barely open my eyes. Went to the ER and was told to stay away from them. Just wanted to share because it’s important to watch out for those severe reactions. If anyone else has had a similar experience, I’m sorry to hear that. Contact your doctor right away if you even suspect something.
