I've been prescribed Alvesco HFA 160mcg Oral Inh and I'm curious about its effectiveness. Is it helping manage your asthma symptoms? Also, I've seen some serious side effects. Has anyone else dealt with these or have they been generally smooth with this medication? Or does anyone have experience with other types of medicines in the 'controller' asthma category? How does Alvesco compare? Let me know your experiences so I can get a better idea of what to expect!

I switched to Alvesco from a different corticosteroid inhaler and I noticed a significant reduction in my asthma symptoms. The key is to use it every day, even when you feel well. This can help prevent flare-ups.

I've had some mild hoarseness and throat irritation since starting Alvesco but nothing earth-shattering. Just make sure to rinse your mouth after using it.

My doctor told me it's not for sudden asthma attacks. What happens if you do use it during an attack? Do you have a rescue inhaler on hand?

I've actually been using this medication for a few months and I've only had a stuffy nose from it. I can't say I've noticed any other side effects. It's working well for me. I'm glad I switched over to it.

Just started Alvesco. Using it every day as prescribed. Fingers crossed! Has anyone tried both Alvesco and Qvar? How do they compare?

I've used Alvesco for the past 5 years and it's been great. I've had no major issues apart from slight throat irritation. Keep on top of your health and asthma symptoms should maintain a high quality of life.

I'm on Alvesco too, and it's been fantastic. No major side effects, and my asthma is under control. I use a spacer with it, which helps to ensure I get the full dose. Also, make sure to shake it well before each use for maximum effectiveness.

Seems like a lot of people are having good experiences with this. I'm still on the fence as I've heard some scary stories about the side effects. Anyone else worried about long-term use?

I've been using Alvesco for about 6 months now. I had a really bad allergic reaction to it though. I had a rash, hives and itching all over. I had to stop using it, but for folks with less severe reactions those issues seem to resolve quickly.
