I was recently prescribed Amlodipine-Atorvastatin 5/10mg Tabs to treat both high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience with this medication? I'm curious to know about any side effects you might have experienced and how you managed them. I appreciate any advice on what to expect and how to best manage this medication.

I've noticed some severe muscle pain and weakness ever since I started taking Amlodipine-Atorvastatin. I've had to switch some medications around but nothing seems to be working well.

I started feeling really sick with weight gain, and an obvious increase in swelling in my arms and legs. I spoke to a doctor and got the medicine switched out. It was a close call.

I had a bad reaction to this med. I got a rash, swelling, and trouble breathing. Ended up in the ER. Definitely seek medical attention if you experience anything like this.

I recently changed my diet and exercise routine while taking this medication and have seen great improvements. Can't tell if it's the meds or the lifestyle changes but regardless I've seen my blood pressure and cholesterol levels both drop by at least 5%. I think diet and exercise can make a big difference. I have pretty severe muscle pains and weakness so it's a lot to keep track of, but I also had to take a step back to recover after I got sick last year.

My father was on this med and he had some really bad muscle problems that led to kidney issues. He had to stop taking it completely. Drastic but he's doing better now.

I've been on this combo for a while now. It's helped my blood pressure and cholesterol levels immensely, but I did have some initial trouble with joint pain, This is a tough one: we all want to not worry about heart health, but things like this can be a trial and error process...

I don’t really understand why the side effects are so severe. Is it because of how the meds are affecting people’s bodies or the lack of supervision?

I've been lucky so far with no major side effects. My doctor monitored my liver and kidney functions regularly, which I think helped. I've had some dizziness and trouble sleeping but nothing compared to severe side effects that people have posted about. I appreciate the experience shared by a lot of folks here—especially those with longer comments.

I was really worried about liver-related side effects, but my doctor assured me that regular monitoring can help catch any issues early.
