I was prescribed Amlodipine-Benaz 5/10mg Capsules for my high blood pressure, and I'm curious about others' experiences. This combo drug has amlodipine to relax blood vessels and benazepril to help with salt and water. It's supposed to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. I'm mostly concerned with the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else dealt with things like kidney problems, high potassium, or liver issues? I want to be prepared but also not worry too much. Anyone have any tips on managing these side effects or general advice on living with this medication?

If anyone else is worried about the side effects, just remember that everyone's different. What affects one person might not affect you at all. Try not to stress too much, just be aware. Stay positive!

What's the deal with the swelling in the arms or legs? Is that normal or should I worry?

This stuff made me so dizzy I couldn't even stand up. My doctor said it's a common side effect, but it was still really tough to deal with. It got better after a few weeks, but it was rough.

Avoid bananas and oranges if you can -- helps with potassium regulation.

I'm on this medication too, and I've been careful about watching my potassium levels since it's a risk. It was a bit of a hassle at first to get the hang of it, but honestly it's manageable. Just be diligent and listen to your body.

I had some really scary moments with this medication. I developed a rash and started feeling really sick. Turns out I was having an allergic reaction. If you notice anything weird, go to the ER. Don't wait it out.

I've been on this for about 6 months. Honestly, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. I got really sick a few times with nausea and vomiting, but my doctor adjusted the dosage, and it's been better since then. Just don't ignore the warning signs, and communicate with your healthcare provider.

I didn't notice any changes in my urine output, but I know some people do, so keep an eye out for that. I also got really concerned about the liver issues but so far so good. No yellow skin or eyes for me!

My doc told me that if I ever feel like I can't breathe or if I get severe stomach pain, I need to go to the hospital right away. Scary stuff, but better safe than sorry!
