Amox-Clav 250mg/5ml Susp 150ml: My kid's been prescribed this. Any bad side effects to watch out for?
My pediatrician just prescribed Amox-Clav 250mg/5ml Susp 150ml for my 5-year-old. I know it’s a common antibiotic, but I’m a bit worried about side effects. I read the possible side effects but I’m still curious if anyone else has any experience with this. What should I really be looking out for? Honestly, the label does not inspire confidence. Is it common for kids, or is use in children something rare?

I think this is a pretty common antibiotic for kids. Just make sure you follow the dosage instructions carefully and you should be fine. It’s probably a good idea to keep track of any side effects and report them to your doctor.
My kid had this and it was fine. Just watch out for the diaper rash, it can be a bummer to clean.
I had no issues with Amox-Clav 250mg/5ml Susp 150ml. But I did have a bad reaction with a different antibiotic in the same family. So I think it just depends on the person. Keep a close eye on your kid though, just in case.
It's a strong antibiotic, so it can cause some pretty nasty side effects. Watch out for the signs of an allergic reaction, those can get really bad if not addressed right away. My cousin had some really bad diarrhea and ended up in the ER.
I'm not too concerned about the prescription but I would definitely keep an eye on any abnormal symptoms and if they appear, call the doctor. Just in case, I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for dealing with diarrhea if it occurs?
My child experienced some weird skin issues after taking this but it was nothing terrible. Had to use some special cream that my doctor prescribed. I did have to take them off the medication, but the rash cleared up quickly once it was out of their system.
I had a bad experience with Amox-Clav. I thought I was going to die from those side effects. I think the other antibiotics are better than this. I went to the ER because I had some really weird symptoms. But I’m not a doctor, so you should talk to your pediatrician.
Seems like a lot of people have reactions from Amox-Clav. I think I'll ask my doctor to prescribe a different antibiotic if I get sick. I don't want to risk it. Anyone else feel the same way?
