Amoxicillin/Clavulanate 875-125mg tablets are commonly prescribed for a variety of bacterial infections. This medication combines amoxicillin, an antibiotic that kills bacteria, and clavulanate, which helps amoxicillin work better by protecting it from certain bacterial defenses. Proper adherence to dosage instructions is crucial to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment and to minimize the risk of antibiotic resistance. To ensure that patients are well-informed, it’s important to know the common and serious side effects associated with this medication. Everyone’s experience with antibiotics can be a bit different but some symptoms to watch out for are allergic reactions. Seek medical attention immediately if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, itching, wheezing, and swelling. Also, be vigilant for signs of drug-induced enterocolitis syndrome, such as vomiting and diarrhea within specific time frames, and other serious symptoms including vaginal irritation, fever, bruising, and life-threatening diarrhea (C. diff-associated diarrhea).

I’m on my third day of Amox-Clav for an infection. I’ve been taking it with food and it hasn’t upset my stomach too much. I hope it continues to work that way.

Prolonged antibiotic use can lead to antibiotic resistance, so it’s essential to finish the entire course even if you feel better. Do not be tempted to stop early without your doctor's approval. I had to explain this to my friend who wanted to stop because she felt better.

Always take these as prescribed. I forgot to take mine with food, and it hit my stomach really hard. Not fun.

I experienced some really serious side effects (had to go to the hospital). If you notice any rash, swelling or difficulty breathing... get help fast.
