Amox-Clav ES 600mg/5ml Susp 200ml: Is it safe for my child?
I was recently prescribed Amox-Clav ES 600mg/5ml Susp 200ml for my child's ear infection. I've been reading about the side effects and there are a lot of scary things listed but does anyone have any experience with this medication? The possible side effects seem serious. Has anyone else dealt with these issues?

My child had a mild rash, but the doctor said it was fine. I would suggest being very cautious if you see anything like that.
I think this is a really harsh medication. There are other things to try first if possible. I wouldn't rely on this as a first choice.
Honestly, I think the side effects are overstated. We've used this a few times and never had any issues. Just follow the doctor's instructions and you should be okay.
I'm a nurse, and I've seen kids have bad reactions to this, including liver problems. It's rare, but it happens. Definitely keep an eye out for those symptoms and call the doctor if you see any.
I think it's just like any other antibiotic. Some kids have reactions, some don't. Just pay attention and you'll be fine.
I gave this to my kid last year for a sinus infection. The only side effect was a bit of diarrhea, which wasn't too bad. Just keep an eye on them and you should be fine.
