I've been prescribed Amoxicillin 200mg/5ml Susp 75ml for my child's ear infection, and I'm a bit anxious about the potential side effects. Has anyone else used this medication? What were your experiences with it? I've read about the rare but serious side effects, and I'm wondering if anyone has had to deal with any of those. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated! Also, how do you handle the diarrhea that seems to be a common side effect?

My doctor told me about the rare but serious skin reactions. It's scary to think about, but just keep an eye out for any unusual rashes or sores. Better safe than sorry.

I had a friend who got C. diff after taking antibiotics. It was awful—she had severe diarrhea and ended up in the hospital. So yeah, if you see any blood or really bad cramps, get to the doctor ASAP.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Amoxicillin years ago. It was terrifying—the swelling, the hives, the trouble breathing. I had to go to the ER and they told me I can't take it again. So, be really careful.

I gave this to my kid last year for a similar reason. He had some mild diarrhea, but nothing too bad. Just keep an eye on their hydration and it should be fine. I also recommend giving it with food to help with stomach upset.

Honestly, I was nervous about giving this to my daughter, but she took it fine. Just mix it with a bit of juice to make it taste better. And call your doctor if you see anything weird!

I don't understand why doctors still prescribe this stuff. The side effects are awful, and it seems like people are really susceptible to reactions. Not a fan!

I've taken Amoxicillin a few times and never had any serious issues. Just the usual upset stomach and headache, but nothing I couldn't handle. Make sure to finish the full course even if symptoms get better!
